The Gatekeeper's Cottage is a self-contained cottage located at 315 West Coast Road, Yaldhurst, Christchurch.

The cottage is a 10 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport and situated on the main West Coast road which is a leisurely hour and a half drive to some of the most magnificent ski fields the South Island has to offer. It is 3 hours' drive to the scenic West Coast and glaciers. Built in the 1920's The Gatekeeper's Cottage has been extensively refurbished, offering a delightful combination of olde worlde charm with modern comforts and conveniences. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people in 3 bedrooms (1 x queen, 1 x twin, 1 x single). This delightful cottage is ideal for a family or a couple.

The Gatekeeper's Cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with all the modern cooking conveniences one would expect, including fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The separate laundry contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board and second toilet. The living area features a gas fire, television, DVD player, CD player, stereo and bookcase. Guests are welcome to plug their laptops into the telephone line for internet access (please note you need your own dial-up connection). The newly renovated bathroom has a separate shower, vanity and toilet. The bedrooms are furnished with quality linen and bed coverings. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom, two single beds in one bedroom and one single bed in the other. Electric blankets and heaters are available in each of the bedrooms to ensure a cosy stay.

With Christchurch’s icon attraction, the International Antarctic Centre, close by, the Cottage is an ideal place to base yourself when visiting Christchurch. Whether you're planning a full itinerary or simply relaxing, the Gatekeeper's Cottage is truly your "home away from home".
